WRC, Rally Australia, elenco iscritti
Solamente 10 WRC partenti per il Rally d’Australia. La logistica e le spese di spostamento sono stati i problemi principali che diversi equipaggi non potevano certo sostenere. Per la categoria dei “big” presenti solo i piloti ufficiali delle VW all’ultima apparizione, Hyundai e Ford. Niente Citroen dunque. Presente anche il nostro Lorenzo Bertelli. I giochi sono tutti fatti mentre si andrà ad assegnare il campione nella categoria minore del WRC2.
Anche il WRC2 risente della lontananza del continente e si presenteranno solamente 4 auto. Sembravano 5 fino a pochi giorni fa, ma Skoda, ritiri VW a parte, ha deciso di ritirare l’iscrizione di Jan Kopecky e restare con 3 vetture oltre ad una Peugeot 208 T16 del polacco “Birdman” Hubert. Tra le 3 Skoda partenti avremo quella di Esapekka Lappi, terzo nel mondiale dietro a Suninen ed Evans (in testa al mondiale2), i quali non saranno presenti in Australia. Titolo in pugno dunque a Lappi che senza concorrenza ha la strada spianata.
